We have been hard at work behind the scenes and are finally ready to share some exciting news! We are taking our Montana Made Signature Almond Maple Granola to the next level and are now offering this product wholesale through new distribution channels with a new brand and new packaging to bring it to retail shelves throughout the region.
We collaborated with 3 other Montana Women-owned Businesses to launch the new brand, Crazy Mountain Kitchen, developed beautiful new retail packaging for the granola, and ramped up production to support new sales and distribution channels.
Rachel Anderson with M Design Group developed the Crazy Mountain Kitchen brand and designed the new granola packaging with help from artist Kay Potter, who illustrated the iconic bear on the packaging.
The granola will be manufactured for Crazy Mountain Kitchen by Katy Martin with Fishtail Food Distributing, which will allow us to increase production and support the new distribution channels. A huge thanks to Rachel, Kay, and Katy for helping make this dream a reality.
Currently, our granola is available to purchase at select retail locations including: Blend Smoothie Co. (Livingston), Woods Rose Market (Livingston), Coffee Crossing (Livingston), Glenn's Shopping Center (Clyde Park), and Castle Mountain Grocery (White Sulphur Springs). More retail locations are coming soon, so stay tuned for updates!
Crazy Mountain Kitchen's (CMK) Signature Almond Maple Granola was birthed from Faith Magalsky's work as a busy mom and caterer who wanted a naturally gluten free, healthy, wholesome, and versatile food that would fuel her family.
This Montana made, locally sourced, small batch granola not only feeds you, but also fights hunger through our "Every Plate Matters" Campaign. We proudly give back 5% of proceeds to help fight hunger locally and around the world.
Crazy Mountain Catering was able to grow and expand production beyond the CMC commercial kitchen to develop a more widespread wholesale program with the help of funds received through the Montana Department of Agriculture's Growth through Agriculture (GTA) grant program. The grant's purpose is, in part, to "aid in the access, development and expansion of new markets."
With the help and support of Prospera Business Network, CMC was able to apply for the grant and successfully obtained matching funds to pay for the branding, packaging development, and a range of marketing associated with expanding into a new wholesale market. In addition to growing production, the expansion into the wholesale market also aims to obtain new partnerships with Montana farmers for sourcing more local ingredients, including oats and seeds.
This product truly supports a wide range of Montana small businesses from farmers and producers, designers and artists, and local retail and grocery stores. We are so proud to be able to expand our impact on the local and state wide economy to make this truly Montana made product. We hope you love it.
